7:00 AM

6:30 PM. Everything else ran without you.

Operations that run without you.

  1. 7:00 to 8:50 AM. Eleven things land on the owner: a missed call, a new inquiry, a customer asking for a timeline, three late invoices, a request for the weekly numbers, a new hire with no plan, a supplier waiting on a sign-off, and three real decisions.
  2. Replies. A reply desk drafts every answer from the price sheet and past proposals. A person reads the draft and sends it.
  3. Missed calls. A receptionist that never misses a call texts back from a template the owner approved, and adds the callback to someone's list.
  4. Invoices. A collections clerk queues polite reminders on a schedule. The final notice waits for the owner's OK.
  5. Weekly numbers. An analyst builds the one-page report from the books, the sales tracker and the project board. The ops lead reviews it.
  6. New hire. An onboarding coordinator runs the checklist, and every step has an owner.
  7. Follow-ups. A chief of staff reads calendars, inboxes and project files at 6:15 each morning and hands over one ordered list: ready to send, waiting on you, waiting on others.
  8. Who owns what. The COO half of the job: deciding what gets automated, who owns each process, and which calls stay with the owner. By 6:30 PM, three decisions are left, and each one belongs to the owner.
